KUMBASHI - SHRI VINAYAKA TEMPLE  

Kumbhashi , about 9 Kms to the south o Kundapur, is famous for its two temples, Namely, Mahalingeshwara and Anegudde Vinayaka. The name of the place is said to be derived from Kumbhasure who was slain here. Inscriptions mention this place as Kumbha-Kashi. It is one of the seven places of pilgrimage in the  in the region called " Parashurama Srishti" or the creation of Saint Parashurama.The Anegudde Vinayaka Temple situated on the hill attracts a large number of piligrims. Important new activites in the area are started after a worship of this deity. The Temple of Mahalingeshwara is surrounded by a lake and poja is offered to a shallow pit in which "water from the Bhagirathi (Ganga)" is said to collect. The right side of the lake is called Surya-Pushkarini and the left-side the Chandra-Pushkarini. There are also shrines of Suryanarayana, Channakeshava and Lakshminarayana on the banks of the tank and a branch of the Sode Mutt.

KOLLUR - SHRI MOOKAMBIKA TEMPLE
Kolluru , about 45Kms from Kundapur, is one of the most important placesof pilgrimageon the west coast attracting pligrims from all over India. The temple dedicated to the Divine Mother, Sri Mookambika, Stands in hte valley of teh great Kodachadri peak. Inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, there is an ancient jyotirlinga which is divided by a golden line into two unequal parts, the greater representing the three Goddesses, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati and Mahakali and ther smaller Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara. KUNDAPUR - KUNDESHWARA TEMPLE
Kundeshwara temple is within Kundapur town, with big arches. The temple was built by Kundavarma, which remains as a major attraction for visitors coming to the town. The name of the Kundapur taluk and city has been derived from and can be attributed to the Kundeshwara Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and lies in the vicinity of the Panchagangavali River. The main deity enshrined in the black stone garbhagriha is    the 4-feet high shivling. Only 1/3rd of it is visible as the rest is under the earth. The other deities enshrined in the temple are that of Lord Ganesha and Parvathi. KUNDAPUR - KODI BEACH
Kodi - Beach : This is a nice beach located about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from Kundapur. The Kinara Restaurant is a nice place to spend the time, while enjoying the beauty of the Arabian Sea. Kundapur - Kodi Beach
KUNDAPUR - MARAVANTHE BEACH
This is a place located at a distance of about 18 kilometres from Kundapura and known for its Temple of "Sri Bramhalingeshwara", which is located in the bank of river Souparnika. It has a mythological connection with the Kollur "mookambika" temple, this being the place where the Goddess of Kollur killed Mookasura, the Rakshasa. Adi Shankaracharya visited this place and stopped tantrik rituals, and established Sri Chakra, as recorded on a plaque available inside the temple. BY AIR - The nearest airport from Kundapur  is Bajpe Airport (about 95 Kms from Kundapur ) from where one can take flights for most of the important cities in India like Mumbai, Banglore and Chennai, Delhi, etc    BY RAIL - Railway station is 3 Kms from Kundapur Bus Stand and this is connected with most of the metros  BY ROAD - There is a good network of roads that connected Kundapur to other important cities of the region
